MAAS Names David Slifka to Board of Directors

The Michigan Association of Ambulance Services is proud to announce the appointment of David Slifka to the Board of Directors. Mr. Slifka fills a vacant At-Large position until 2018.

 

David Slifka has served for 40 years in emergency medical services. David is currently serving as Executive Director for Reading Emergency Unit, Inc. in Hillsdale County. Prior to his tenure at Reading Emergency Unit, Inc., David also served as Adjunct Faculty for Baker College-Cadillac, Michigan, National Registered Paramedic Program. As well as current licensures and certifications as an EMS Instructor-Coordinator and Critical Care Paramedic, David holds an AAS in Emergency Services Management, from Baker College, and BAS in Paramedicine and Health Care Management from Siena Heights University. In addition to establishing three ambulance services, (Harbor Springs Ambulance, Emmet Ambulance and Allied EMS), he had the pleasure of serving as Executive Director.  Upon receiving a gubernatorial appointment from former Governor, Jennifer Granholm, he served on the Michigan Public Safety Commission Services Committee. David is a contributing author for ems1.com, and has published articles such as, Understanding cultural and gender differences is essential for EMS managers and A positive approach to conflict can improve team synergy, cohesion and idea generation
